“By helping me financially, the Pathways Scholarship has allowed me to focus on my education,” said Ruiz. “I am a single father and also work. If not for the Pathways to the Future program, I might find another part-time job. Now, I can focus on books (and) maintaining my GPA, which I’m very excited about.

Scholarships & Grants

Both Future Paths and MyPath2ASU provide comprehensive support for students who wish to transfer to ASU at any point in their educational journey. It also provides invaluable guidance.

“The streets are a resource for me not only financially, but also for the guidance they provide,” Ruiz said. “My current mentor is helping me build my own professional network and rebuild the way engineering companies want to see themselves.”

Pathways to the Future helps students connect with their peers, teachers help make connections between those mentors and employers, providing lifelong learning and the skills needed to thrive in the workplace of the future. For eligible students; Financial assistance is available while in the program, including help with unexpected costs or expenses.

“I’ve also had situations where I needed to use an emergency fund, and Pathways was there to meet the needs when I needed them,” Ruiz said. “From the day I applied to ASU until I was about to graduate, I never had a problem with anything that kept me from going to school.”

Through the generosity of anonymous donors, the Pat Tillman Center Scholarships provide many scholarships to support nationally and at ASU. Applications for Spring 2024 are now closed. Look for the Fall 2024 application to open on Friday, August 9, 2024. Return to this page on August 9 to access the scholarship application.

Last date to apply: Sunday 22 September 2024, 11:59 p.m. Winners will be notified no later than Friday, October 1, 2024.

Also known as the Purple Heart Waver; This waiver is available to eligible Arizona students. The Arizona Department of Services will notify ASU of your eligibility for this scholarship.

The Tillman Scholars Program supports our nation’s active-duty members and military spouses by investing in their higher education at all levels, from first year through doctoral degrees. Since the program’s inception, the foundation has named more than 520 Tillman Scholars nationally.

As a partner school, our students can apply to become Tillman Scholars and receive financial aid to cover traditional study costs such as tuition and books. Items covered include (but are not limited to) housing; Transportation and childcare. The Family First Scholarship is for ASU undergraduate students who are Chapter 35 benefit-eligible military dependents. The award is selected and administered by the ASU Foundation.

Asu Football Offers Scholarships To B.j. Green, George Hart

The Yellow Ribbon Program applies to non-resident students using the Post-9/11 GI Bill ® (Chapter 33) at the 100% eligibility level. This program is designed to bridge the gap between resident and non-resident tuition. Under this voluntary program, institutions can contract with the VA to support additional costs for eligible students. VA will match each additional dollar funded by the institution, and the combined amount may not exceed the full cost of tuition charged by the institution for VA-approved programs.

For campus-based programs, ASU awards a limited number of undergraduate and graduate Yellow Ribbon Scholarships each year. Students need to apply for the scholarship and can join the waiting list if all the quotas are filled. 

For ASU Online, allocation is not limited at this time. After students determine their eligibility; Their Yellow Ribbon funds will be automatically applied.   

The Military Affiliate Scholarship (MAS) is designed for non-resident ASU online students using the Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33) at the 50% to 90% eligibility level. This scholarship covers the difference between resident and non-resident tuition.  The scholarship amount for any given semester is determined by taking the absolute difference between tuition and non-resident tuition and multiplying it by the student’s eligibility level percentage. To qualify for MAS; If you have not already done so, if you have not already done so, submit a valid Chapter 33 Eligibility Certificate to the Pat Tillman Center. Students who qualify for 100% who do not qualify for Yellow Ribbon will be eligible to receive 100% MAS.

Arizona State University honors those who have served our country by offering Military Duty and Internment Commitment Scholarships. With the scholarship, military members and reservists seeking an undergraduate degree will have no out-of-pocket tuition costs, but will be responsible for any class or mandatory fees not covered by their TA/MRS.

Claire F. Reisch Scholarship c. Awarded to Frederick Reich, Jr. Founded by and in memory of his father, Claire Frederick Reich, who served in both the US Army and Air Force. Mr. Reisch was awarded the Bronze Star while serving in the Korean War and attended Arizona State University through the GI Bill after retiring from the Air Force. Sun Devil graduated with a degree in accounting.

To apply the funds that meet your $500 savings requirement to your student account, you must complete the following steps.

The $500 IDA savings will be split between the fall and spring semesters. $250 of the IDA deposit will be posted as a “Learning IDA Deposit” for the fall semester and $250 will be posted for the spring semester. View all deposits in My ASU > Finance tab > Account Charges box > Payments.

The $4,000 scholarship is split between the fall and spring semesters, with $2,000 from the federal government and $2,000 from ASU. The scholarship is divided into $1,000 ASU Earn to Learn and $1,000 ASU Earn to Learn (Private) awards in your awards summary in My ASU for the fall semester and a total of $4,000 for the entire spring semester. View your scholarship award on My ASU.
