This is a need-based scholarship program for first-time Arizona students. A limited number of scholarships are available for this program. There are two types of Canyon Rising Scholarship awards. Both types of scholarships cover all costs of tuition and fees (except for parking and health insurance), and the second type also includes room and board.
These scholarships are renewable for up to eight semesters and are not subject to the university’s CAP policy. -Admitted students who meet the criteria for the Canyon Rising Scholarship award will be automatically reviewed by the selection committee and notified of the award no later than July 1.
Qualified new students who are at least 17 and under 21 years of age must meet academic eligibility requirements and graduate from a participating Canyon Christian Schools Consortium (CCSC) school with an ungraded GPA of 2.5 or higher. The scholarship awards $4,000 per academic year to on-campus students and $1,500 to off-campus students eligible to attend a CCSC school for four years. The amount of your award depends on the total number of semesters you have successfully completed at your CCSC high school.
New students who are at least 21 but less than 23 years old are eligible for the discounted CCSC rate. To be eligible, students must graduate from CCSC before the contract signing date and begin a degree program before age 23. The CCSC 21-23 Scholarship awards $3,000 per academic year to on-campus students who are accepted and attend a CCSC school for four years, and $1,000 per academic year to off-campus students. The amount of your award depends on the total number of semesters you have successfully completed at your CCSC high school.

Both awards are renewable for up to eight semesters each fall and spring. This award requires the student to maintain continuous full-time enrollment, attend weekly worship services on campus, and fulfill a 40-hour service requirement each academic year. Students who do not meet the 40-hour service requirement may have their scholarship revoked. determines where each student serves to fulfill the requirement. These awards cannot be combined with a Grand Canyon University Award. This scholarship is subject to Grand Canyon University’s CAP policy and cannot exceed your fees. If you are a resident assistant, life leader, or participating in a scholarship program that reduces the cost of campus housing, your CCSC scholarship will be reduced by $1,000. This $1,000 reduction will meet the CCSC recipient’s 40-hour service requirement for the academic year in which the reduction occurs.
