Indiana Wesleyan University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools to learn about the fine print and understand your options in financial aid. Enrolling students must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Students with prior academic experience should submit official transcripts at this time. Students applying for a bachelor’s degree must (a) provide evidence of having received a high school diploma or GED equivalent and (b) from all regionally accredited colleges or universities, accredited by the Association for Higher Education, or nationally accredited; institutions. There is an option to get loan through previous experience assessment. IWU is homeschool friendly and will work with parents and students to meet high school requirements.
IWU no longer requires high school transcripts, but students must complete a high school graduation certificate showing they have completed high school or a GED.
Yes, copies of transcripts from previous college experience must be sent to IWU. Doing so will allow the university to transfer as many credits as possible.

Yes, all entries must be official copies, printed or digital. Printed records are usually sent in stamped and embossed envelopes. Digital records use new technology to demonstrate authenticity. Official transcripts can be sent directly from the institution to IWU at [email protected]
Student acceptance will be subject to the student’s submission of appropriate documentation. After receiving all documents, the student’s file will be reviewed for admission, previous academic credits will be evaluated and the document will be attached, and the student will be admitted to the university. This process usually takes place within seven (7) days after all documents have been sent to the university. Weekends and holidays may extend this period.
IWU offers a bridging course through a four-term structure. This allows students to start in about 6 weeks.
Bridge Initiative provides access to all associate’s and bachelor’s degrees offered online through IWU, except for nursing and health sciences degrees.

Students enrolled in the Bridge Initiative may begin their bachelor’s degree at any time. No prior college experience is required. However, each program has specific entry requirements. See the university catalog for a list of entry requirements.
IWU has a flexible transfer policy to support students with prior academic experience. See the university catalog for a list of transfer policies.
IWU is accredited by the Higher Education Council, one of six regional accreditors in the United States.This accreditation is equivalent to Purdue University or other major universities in the Midwest. Because of this accreditation, many institutions will grant credit for previous work completed at IWU. However, each institution reserves the right to determine which programs will be accepted into the degree program. Students who wish to pursue this option should consult with other institutions.
During the admission process, students will submit all required documents, including transcripts from previous college experiences. Upon admission, the Office of Student Services will evaluate all courses from your previous college experience by the admission deadline above. There may be delays for students applying closer to the start of their studies. Transcript evaluation is an important process in determining the best schedule for a student to use a previous academic course; So, it is important for students to submit their information on time.

Minimizes surprises for students. Students may enroll in 24-30 credit hours per year for general studies at the church.
Yes, students can write part-time (less than 24 hours per year). In this case, the student is charged per credit hour. Contact your church or university for details.
Students may choose to register for credit above the specified limit. In this case, the student is charged the standard rate of credit for each additional credit hour above 30 hours.

Students admitted through the Bridge Initiative are not eligible for institutional scholarships listed on the website. The college program included important talks.
Students may qualify for federal aid programs, including Pell Grants (if eligible), student loans, and parent loan programs. Students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to determine eligibility.
Students should fill out the FAFSA every year, especially around tax time, by visiting the Federal Department of Education website.
After receiving the FAFSA, the university will determine your eligibility for federal student aid with a general application and approved admissions application.
