A student receiving a diploma must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Students with prior academic experience must submit official transcripts at this time. Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree must have (a) a high school diploma or GED equivalent and (b) transcripts from all previous regionally accredited colleges or universities, institutions accredited by the Association for Higher Education, or nationally accredited institutions. Options for obtaining credit are available based on previous experience. IWU is homeschool friendly and will work with parents and students to determine high school requirements.

Indiana Wesleyan Scholarships
IWU no longer requires high school transcripts, but students must complete a high school graduation self-certification form that they have completed high school or a GED.

Yes, a transcript of any previous college experience must be submitted to IWU. Doing so will allow the university to transfer as many credits as possible.
Yes, all records must be an official copy, hard copy or digital. Printed transcripts are usually sent in a sealed and stamped envelope. Digital copies use new technology to demonstrate authenticity. Official transcripts can be sent directly to IWU from the educational institution at [email protected]
Admission of the student will depend primarily on the submission of appropriate documentation by the student. Once all documentation is received, the student’s file is reviewed for admission, prior academic credits are evaluated and added to the transcript, and the student is admitted to the university. This process usually takes place within seven (7) days of submitting all documents to the University. Weekends and holidays may extend these deadlines.
IWU offers a bridge initiative through a four-term structure. This allows us to start students approximately every 6 weeks.

The Bridge Initiative provides students with access to all associate and baccalaureate programs offered online through IWU, except for nursing and health science degrees.
A student enrolled in the Bridge Initiative may begin a bachelor’s degree at any time. No previous college experience is necessary. However, each program has specific admission requirements. For a list of admission requirements, see the university catalog.
IWU has a flexible transfer policy to assist those with prior academic experience. See the university catalog for a list of transfer policies.
IWU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, one of six regional accreditors in the United States. This accreditor is similar to Purdue University or other major universities in the Midwest. In recognition of this recognition, many institutions grant credit for work previously completed at IWU. However, each institution reserves the right to decide whether credit will be accepted toward a degree program. Students interested in pursuing this option should consult with other institutions.
Eastside Seniors Earn Scholarships
During the admissions process, the student will submit all required documentation, including transcripts of previous college experience. Upon admission, the Office of Student Services will evaluate all courses from prior college experience within the admissions deadlines described above. Delays may occur for students submitting documents close to the start of the course. Transcript evaluation is an important process in determining the best schedule for students, taking into account the previous academic course; Therefore, it is important to present information to students in a timely manner.
This minimizes surprises for students. Students may enroll in 24 to 30 credit hours per year for total tuition at one church.
Yes, students can enroll part-time (less than 24 hours per year). In this case, students will be credited for one credit hour. Contact your church or university for details.
Students may choose to enroll in overloaded credits in excess of the established limit. In such case, the student will be charged the standard per-credit tuition rate for each additional credit over 30 hours.

Can students enrolled in financial aid + church partnerships receive scholarships listed on the indwes.edu website?
Students enrolled through the Bridge Initiative are not eligible for institutional scholarships listed on the website. Learning the program already includes significant discussion.
Students have access to federal aid programs, including but not limited to the Pell Grant (where available), student loans, and parent loan programs. Students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to determine eligibility.
Students must complete the FAFSA each year, usually at tax time, by visiting the federal Department of Education website.
Top Christian Art + Design School
Upon receipt of the FAFSA, without general eligibility issues and a verified admissions application, the university will generate an estimate of federal student aid eligibility. This estimate will be available within one week of receiving the FAFSA. Student aid assessments will be based on the cost of attendance, which includes the average total tuition, fees, books, living and transportation costs, and loan fees. The assessment also assesses the student’s expected enrollment status. The university’s programs are structured so that a student begins their first year full-time or part-time, and from that point the typical course schedule is full-time enrollment.
After financial clearance and post-registration, aid calculations are finalized based on changes to specific enrollments, the student’s FAFSA information (if applicable), and any other aid source information that may or may not be available at that time. Estimated federal student aid is usually disbursed on the 10th or 11th day of the term, unless there are other prohibited delays.
Aid in excess of the current term’s fee will be sent to the student within 14 days of the disbursement date, unless the student authorizes Student Account Services to use the funds for future fees during the academic year.
Financial clearance is the process by which a student submits required documentation to the financial aid process and potentially unlocks federal and state financial aid. Financial aid documentation varies by student. Students are expected to submit all required documentation prior to the start of the course. More details are provided in the upcoming sections.
Indiana Wesleyan University Endowment Fund
Financial documents will depend on each student. Potential clearance documents include the following: Financial Policy Agreement, Withholding Authorization, FAFSA, Admissions Counseling, Graduate Affidavit, and other documents required for student financial aid consideration. Students should contact their student account coordinator for details.
All documents must be submitted to the university 8 days before the start of classes; However, students should complete financial aid documents in advance (at least 21 days prior to the start of classes) to allow sufficient time for processing and submission of additional document requests. Final clearance, as determined by the University, one week prior to commencement of classes.
Students who fail to meet the above deadlines will not be allowed to register for the course and begin the term. They may postpone their start until later.
Indiana Wesleyan University is active in making course materials as accessible as possible to students in many courses by using embedded materials at no additional cost than purchasing actual books. When textbooks are required for a course, students will have access to the book list prior to the start of the course to obtain a personal copy. While many students use online suppliers for materials (such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.), students can also use the Tree of Life Bookstore (765) 674-9530 (an IWU business partner located in Marion, Indiana) for their Purchase Service Settings.
Notre Dame Federal Credit Union Awards 30 Student Scholarships
All standard student services will be available to students, including, but not limited to, advising/registration, library services, tutoring, online chaplaincy, career development, and prior learning assessments. Academic advising and registration services will be provided by the Student Services team. Library services are provided online. Teaching is available through SmartThinking, an online service available directly through each BrightSpace course. Online chaplaincy services are provided through the SpiritCare team. Resume review and career development, including quality resources, are available through the Office of Student Services. Finally, prior learning assessments are provided through the Office of Student Services. MARION – The Indiana Commission on Higher Education recently awarded 200 Next Generation Hoosier Educator Scholarships. Twelve of the recipients will join the Indiana Wesleyan University community and receive a degree in education.
Students are competitively selected and will receive $7,500 annually (up to a total of $30,000) to commit to teaching in Indiana for at least five years after graduation. Students must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA, graduate in the top 20% of their high school class, or score out of 20.
